It’s happening!

Me & my husband met whilst working in Spain (Majorca) in 2000. We married in 2009 and in 2015 we decided we had had enough and wanted to get away.. ?
We have loved to holiday and have travelled to some great places including Mexico, Hong Kong, Hawaii, USA ( yes, I know Hawaii is in the USA ) and lots of Europe, but the depressing part is returning home and having to get back to the daily grind.
So, we’re selling up! Yes, Selling our house & car and jetting off. We don’t really know what will happen or where we will go…but the house is sold (subject to contract), so all we know is; it’s happening! ?
Join us on our adventure, on our Late Gap Year!

  1. Oh, how I want a late gap year. Maybe for the big 4-0 here too. Right now I’m 32, so…8 more years? Truth of the matter is, I didn’t really know or understand gap years when I was at the gap year age, and now with three small children under my belt, and a husband who is working towards his apprenticeship certification, it’s not as easy to pick up and go. but by 40 my husband will be done his apprenticeship certification, so, maybe? I look forward to following your blog! 🙂

    1. Hi Amanda,

Thanks for visiting our blog! Maybe you’ll be able to do your gap year once your kids have grown, never give up on your dreams.

  2. I took a gap half year at 40. Loved it. Would love to do it again, but now I’m almost 45 and a bit scared what I will find when I come back to either Holland or back to the UK. I will follow your trip and maybe it will push me over the fear threshold.

    1. Hi,

Great that you were able to take a gap at 40. It certainly is scary, but so is the thought of forever thinking “if only we’d done it”….

  3. My husband and I are on a similar track. We will be taking off June 1 for our 1 year around the world travels starting in Greece. Would love to compare notes with you. We will follow your posts!

    1. Hi Karen,

Fantastic! Yes, would be good to compare notes…we keep thinking there must be something we’re forgetting or missing from our lists!

Good luck for June. Where is the first stop in Greece?

    1. Hi Debs & Steve

Good to hear from you. Wow…10th of June, not long now! We have holidayed on Rhodes in the past, we loved Rhodes Town and the little village of Lindos. Where do you plan to go after that? How far in advance are you planning your trips and have you narrowed down your packing list?

      Good luck
      Leanne & Martin.
